An Updated Guide to Contraception Long-acting reversible methods
Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) methods are highly acceptable and offer cost-effective, efficacious contraception. They are associated with a lower risk of unintended pregnancy than shorteracting contraceptive methods. The contraceptive implant and intrauterine contraceptives have similar high efficacies in both typical and perfect use with few absolute or relative contraindications and few serious risks associated with their use.
