Negative pressure wound therapy with instillation (NPWTi) differs from standard NPWT systems in that topical solutions are cyclically fed into the foam dressing via an additional set of ingress tubing and held for a user-selected period before removal under negative pressure. Solutions intended for topical use include topical cleansers, antibiotics, antifungals and antiseptics.
