Professor Myron Levin, currently Professor of Paediatrics and Medicine, University of Colorado, Aurora, USA, was in Cape Town recently to address the 16th International Congress on Infectious Diseases on 3 April.
His clinical interests are antiviral therapy, the immune response to herpesvirus infections and vaccine science. A key member of the research teams that studied Zostavax, a live, attenuated varicella zoster virus vaccine, he discusses
some of the important aspects of the vaccine’s efficacy and safety.
